This charming and characterful house is set in an ideal location: just a few minutes’ walk from the beloved river beach Praia da Fuseta Ria and the ferry to the beautiful Fuseta Island. Everything is within easy reach, allowing you to leave the car behind with confidence. It is a place where comfort and authenticity come together in the peaceful heart of the village.
Inside, you will find a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing meals with fresh fish from the local market. The house offers three comfortable bedrooms. On the ground floor, you will find the master bedroom with two single beds placed side by side, where a baby cot can be added if needed. The second bedroom on the same level features a Hemnes folding bed that opens into a full double bed. The third bedroom is located on the rooftop terrace and has two single beds, a bright and inviting space with direct access to the outdoors. In addition, there are two luxurious bathrooms, each with a spacious walk-in shower, ensuring everyone in your group enjoys privacy and comfort.
The house accommodates up to six guests and a baby or small child up to two years of age. Beach towels are provided, and you can make use of a foldable beach and shopping cart, fully equipped with parasols, sand anchors and a retro cooler for relaxed days by the sea.
The surroundings reflect the laid-back atmosphere for which Fuseta is known. Fresh fish, cosy restaurants and several minimarkets are all within short walking distance; several dining options can be found just 200 to 300 metres from the house. There is also a larger supermarket on the edge of the village centre. Despite the central location, the immediate area is quiet. On the corner is a bar where local fishermen gather during the day, and in the evening the neighbourhood remains peaceful.
The Ria Formosa lies literally around the corner and offers a wide range of possibilities: boat trips to idyllic islands with clear water, an underwater seahorse safari, lunch on the beach or a relaxing day on Fuseta Island. With a rented bicycle, you can easily follow the Ecovia do Litoral along the coast or explore the inland areas via the Via Algarviana. Day trips to Olhão, Faro, Tavira, Cabanas, Santa Luzia and Cacela Velha are also easy to make.
The house is distinguished by its high, vaulted ceilings. According to local stories, these “abóboadas” were built by villagers who worked as craftsmen during the restoration of the church, guided by architects from Lisbon after the great earthquake of 1755. Research from the University of the Algarve shows that Fuseta is the only village in Portugal with around 250 houses featuring these unique ceilings. Staying in this house means experiencing a remarkable piece of Portuguese history and architectural heritage.
